Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Communication ahead of the arrival was very smooth. The instructions for getting in very clear - this was particularly helpful as we arrived at night (we didn't have to fiddle with lock box and uncertainty around key issues). The apartment itself is very spacious and sits on the grounds of a beautiful manor house. The outdoor space is expansive and delight for anyone coming with kids. Great attention to detail even with a picnic basket provided - we couldn't make the most of it given it's nearly November, but great idea in the summer considering the beautiful gardens. The host has been extremely helpful and pleasant. We would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking to explore Dorset (within 10mins drive of some major coast tourist spots).
Wonderful stay in a beautiful historic house. Owners were very friendly and helpful and the surrounding area is jam-packed with things to do.
It was wonderful to step out of the door of the flat in the west wing to the sight of the main facade of this beautiful early 1600's Manor House. The location is very peaceful & the interior is appointed to a high standard: bedrooms are beautiful, bathrooms modern & spacious, sitting room cosy & comfortable. Owners Sarah & Ken are very friendly & welcoming. Thank you for a lovely few days.
We spent two weeks in August at the Cottage Manor - it
could not have been more perfect!
Beautiful old manor with a surrounding park. The
accommodation has been renovated very tastefully - modern, but with
charm of the old building still intact.
The flat was very clean, and provided everything we, as a
young family with children, needed.
There is plenty to visit nearby - no problem to fill 14 days
- and the Dorset landscape left us in awe more than
once.
When the holiday home is a 5/5 the owners are even better.
Seldom in the last 30 years I met owners of accommodations, that
were so kind, helpful in any way you could imagine.
We definitely will be back ….
Stunning accommodation. Clean and tidy. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
We had a lovely, relaxing holiday at Poxwell Manor. The owners, Sarah and Ken, were discreet, welcoming, and very helpful. The west wing of this historic property is ideally situated for exploring the Jurassic Coastline.
What a find! 5 Stars? No! 10 Stars and ALL Gold would be more fitting for this exquisite, charming and unique holiday rental. On arrival, we were awestruck by Poxwell Manor West Wing, attached to the manor itself, standing majestically before us. Excitedly we opened the front door and started to investigate. The whole house was spotlessly clean and a generous Welcome Pack awaited us in the kitchen. Deceptive at first, the spaciousness of this lovely home soon became apparent. All 3 bedrooms were large, well appointed and full of light. The beds were superbly comfortable affording all 6 of us very restful nights. So important! "Far From The Madding Crowd" the Manor, set in over 10 acres of beautiful gardens giving peace and quiet and tranquility but still within easy reach of many interesting things to do and places to visit. Many thanks to our hosts Ken and Sarah for their warm welcome and readiness to help and advise us as needed. This home is very special. We can't wait to return.
A beautiful base for our trip to Dorset. Being in the grounds of the Manor House, and the size and comfort of the rooms was wonderful. Thank you!
Beautiful home; it was a special place to stay and the furnishings were lovely. We were made to feel very welcome. Our kids really enjoyed the trampoline and also fresh eggs from the hens! Travel cot and high chair provided were great, thank you. Just to note for families with toddlers that there are a few steps into the kitchen (although you can close it off with the door). We had a cold snap and it was very cosy in the evenings with the fire on. Brilliant location, within easy reach of beaches, museums etc. Lots to do in dry or wet weather. We booked a fossil hunting tour from the museum in Lyme Regis and would highly recommend. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Fantastic accommodation in a lovely area. We were delighted with our stay. Bedrooms were thoughtfully and beautifully furnished. Lounge snug was very comfortable. Small, but perfectly formed kitchen is well kitted out. Highly recommend.
Very clean, lovely linen. Best restful. Good coms, joining instructions. Suited us well. Garden area was a bonus.
Amy and George were very responsive and quick to reply to any messages. They made some great suggestions for local places to go and generally had great communication. The place worked perfectly for what we needed! Thanks
Lovely few days at Poxwell Manor's West wing. Great accommodation, very comfortable beds. Well equipped. Beautiful surroundings, fantastic for a family. Owners very kind and helpful.
The West Wing is set in beautiful grounds in a peaceful
location. The accommodation has been finished to a very high
standard and you will not be disappointed. It is luxurious and
homely
- we absolutely loved it here and will definitely
return.
Our hosts were very hospitable and friendly making us feel
very welcome.
Only a few miles from Lulworth Cove, Weymouth and Ringstead -
there is so much in the area to explore.
The home was beautiful throughout. The host Sarah was just lovely, incredibly helpful and very friendly. We had two young children and even with bad weather we had plenty to do both on the grounds and venturing out to local attractions. We would absolutely go back again and highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit Dorset.
